SSC160 Times Two

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Running late today....I am gradually getting back into the school schedule, which will change in a few days once Dana and Cassidy move after the wedding!  For now, I am taking it easy....although we did start priming our walls yesterday, so we will be in the thick of painting quite soon!  I did have a little bit of time last night to create two cards for the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge:

The first one is decidedly feminine, using papers from Delightful Daisy and images from Jar of Love:

It also uses a sentiment from August's Paper Pumpkin....I find myself using generic sentiments like this more and more; then I put a more specific sentiment on the inside when I need it!  I used the Everyday Jar framelits to cut out my little floral and greenery:

The second one is definitely more masculine!  My friend  Jan recently used the Dictionary background stamp on this card and I was inspired to pull mine out too!  I used some papers from Coffee Break, then took Pick a Pattern washi tape and covered a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with it and cut it out with a Layering Circles framelit:

I hadn't used Wood Words for a while, so I stamped and diecut a little tag using the rooster image and tied it with some black and white baker's twine!  Again, a generic sentiment to use for the future!

Hope you have a blessed day!

SIP114 Hearts Come Home

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge...this one is a sketch, those are my favorites!  Here we go:

Image may contain: text

There are so many possibilities for this sketch...florals, snowflakes, DSP, sentiments...endless ideas!  I went with a brand-new set (again) from the upcoming mini catalog called Hearts Come Home along with some DSP called Merry Music Specialty:

I just love all the elements in this set, but I confess that the Santa is my favorite!  I stamped him in Real Red and added houses, stars and a wee little tree in Basic Black and Smoky Slate:

There are some nice sentiments too...this one was stamped in Real Red and I cut it using an Xacto knife so I could cut out around the letters, then I added a little red glimmer star:

And since I couldn't decide what color star I wanted on the front, I had punched out three...so I added the other two on the inside, along with a sentiment and some more little houses along the bottom:

In hindsight, I should have added some "snow", but maybe I'll go back and add it later!  This set is bundled with a framelit as well (Hometown Greetings) but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet---soon!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week, I can't wait to see what you create!

So here we are, ready for the bus yesterday morning.  The past few years, the weather has been hot so shorts were in order; this year, it was downright chilly!!  She posed without her sweatshirt (but check out the gold shoes) then quickly put it on again!

With Mommy and Grampy (she wouldn't take one with me!):

And since our neighbor and friend Lee also goes to Charter, there was quite a crowd at the bus stop!

Thanks for popping by today!  Enjoy your day and be a blessing to someone!

Pretty Painted Harvest

Happy Monday peeps!  It's an exciting day in our house; Cassidy starts second grade at a new school! She'll be attending our charter school and she is excited about meeting new teachers and friends!  I hope to have some pictures for you tomorrow!  Meanwhile, I have been playing with the new Painted Harvest set, due to come out in the Holiday mini catalog on Friday!  I just played with some scraps on my desk; no challenges or anything!  So here we go!  The first one used a scrap of Whole Lot of Lovely with a Tranquil Tide card base and a little linen thread embellishment:

My flower colors were Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake.  For the second one, I used a background of Pick a Pattern; the flower used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede, and I also stamped some leaves on the DSP in Soft Suede as well:

The sentiment was from Better Together, and I also added some gold thread behind my stitched scallop oval:

Last week Cassidy decided that Ethan had a gash on his head and needed stitches:

I'll spare you the gory details, but Grammy's stapler provided the best results:

I hope her second-grade teacher appreciates her imagination, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP359 BOO!

Hi everyone!  It's Sunday, and we are spending some time on the Elk River in Maryland!  But I was able to get some stamping done before we left and made a fun Halloween card using Laurie's cute Paper Players sketch:

I had several ideas for this sketch, it's so versatile, and I decided to use this cute little pumpkin from Seasonal Chums!  It's not just for tags!  Check it out:

I stamped it on watercolor paper and colored it in with an aquapainter and inks, then fussy-cut it out (I actually forgot I have the die, DUH!).  I mounted it on a panel of Spooky Night DSP that was cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border die and accented with a piece of Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper cut with the same die:

I also cut out a sentiment from the same glimmer paper:

and added a spider sitting on some spider web-embossed background:

I added a Basic Black glimmer paper bat diecut from the Seasonal Tags Framelits and some stamping from Spooky Cat for my inside:

As I said, this sketch is extremely versatile, so I hope you'll share your creation with us at our blog! Be sure to check out the DT's creations as well:

My sweet friend and teammate Sandy sent Cassidy this adorable little owl made from some fabric that SU used to sell!  Her name is Hannah...isn't she cute?!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI157 Herd It's Your Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  I apologize for being a little bit MIA.....life just gets in the way of crafting sometimes!  Between now and Dana's wedding (9-9-17), I might be a little sporadic in my posting!  Anyway, it's time for another fun As You See It challenge, and we've got a sketch this time:

No automatic alt text available.

My nephew's birthday is tomorrow...he's a chef, but I really didn't have any "chef-y" stamps, but I did think he would like a punny card--at least I hope he does!  So here we go with a PTI stamp that I have had forever and have not barely gotten inky, called Text Style On the Farm:

I used two pieces of Wood Textures DSP; on the main mat, I stamped some wheat images from an Artistic Outpost set called Home in Chocolate Chip ink; then I stamped the checked image from the PTI set in Wild Wasabi.  The sunrise was So Saffron, field was Pear Pizzaz and the cow was stamped in Memento Black, as was the sentiment.  I did add a couple of images in Sahara Sand too:

I didn't feel right adding a bow, so I added a little "sheaf" from Bouquet Bunch at the bottom.  And here's the inside:

The frame is from the same set, sentiments are from PTI's Barnyard Sentiments!  I really need to use this (and all the hundreds of other stamp sets I have!) more often!  I hope you will share you creation with us using our sketch...remember, our challenge goes for two weeks, so you have plenty of time!

Grampy taught Cassidy how to start a fire using a little magnifying glass from the Spy Kit she got for Christmas....the font of knowledge Grampy posesses is endlessly surprising!!!  It worked, too!

Thanks for popping by today and be blessed!

SIP113 Back to School

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge, and it IS a timely one:

 No automatic alt text available.
So there are lots of possibilities for this theme....the apple, books, chalkboard, you name it!  I chose to go with an apple and some cool "school" SU paper from a few years back:

I also used the Match the Sketch sketch for this week:

I used two sets for my little apple image; the apple and leaf are from a retired SU set called Perfectly Preserved; the sentiment is from Papertrey, not sure of the name, but it might be Apple of My Eye! The images were stamped on Whisper White, diecut and then mounted on a Very Vanilla circle:

I have a couple of children's birthdays coming up, so this will be for one of them!  Thanks for visiting...I hope you'll play with our challenge this week!  Be sure to check out what the DT created as well!

Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child again this year, and we met to go through the donations so far and to remove all the packaging.  Cassidy and her friends Piper and Avery "helped":

But you know kids....in the end, they just wanna have fun!

Enjoy your day, and be blessed!

Another PP358

Happy Monday, peeps!  I trust you had a good weekend!  I have a confession!  The card I have for you today was supposed to be for yesterday's Paper Players challenge.....but I forgot that it was supposed to be clean-and-simple, and although I love this card, I didn't really feel like it met Joanne's criteria!!!  So I saved it for today:

I used the same DSP, Just Add Color Specialty, this time it was the teapot paper!  I used the Sunday Stamps Summer Petals color palette:

and using inks and an aquapainter, I colored in the images!  Isn't this one cute?

And I very carefully ('cuz it's a really tiny stamp) used the "berries" from Carols of Christmas for the wallpaper design behind my array of teapots:

I used the new Quilt Top embossing folder for the background, and I used a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet and stamped it on a stitched tag from Pretty Pink Posh:

These colors are just so pretty together!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana had a big party for Cassidy on Saturday--the weather was perfect, the kids had a load of fun and I got to meet some of Wayne's family and catch up with some of my own!  Of course there was cake:

and even though I am not a big fan of bright artificial colors on my cake, I have to admit that these were pretty amazing!  A local gal that waitressed with Dana bakes these!  Cassidy was thrilled with them, of course:

And although she didn't get all seven candles blown out in one shot, she gave it a good try!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
