Just Married

DSCF6507

If you’re looking for my ColourQ post, it’s here!

I was having a couple issues with my LiveWriter today, so I thought I’d do a little test post with a  card using one of Arielle’s latest digi images from her Wax Fruit Company!  I don’t know of anyone getting married any time soon, but it was such a fun image, I couldn’t resist playing with it! (She has the image without the sentiment on it, too!):

DSCF6505

I very loosely used the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch from this week:

SFFsketch052711

I colored in the image with Copics; I am wishing I had not use that green for the background, but really, I was only playing around and didn’t even plant to make it into a card!!  I stitched some Stella Rose papers together and used a Texturz plate from SU for my background.  The sentiment was computer generated, and I made the button by punching four hearts with a small punch, punching holes and gluing them together, then coating them with a layer of Crystal Effects.

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope this posts! :D

ColourQ87

Happy, happy Tuesday, everyone! Another ColourQ challenge coming your way! I SO wish I was super-duper crafty and could come up with cute little felt critters like this:
Unfortunately, I just have a really quick CAS card for you instead:
Now, you just knew I would pick that little owl from the SAB set Punch Bunch, didn’t you??!!! I stamped him in a couple of the challenge colors and punched him out, adding a little sparkly Crushed Curry heart to his chest:

He is sitting on a “tree limb” of some retired Soft Suede ribbon….and I think he’s wishing someone special a happy birthday, too!

Now let’s see what you come up with using these wonderful cheerful challenge colors! Fly on over to the CQC blog to play and see what the other designers have come up with!!!

  • Stamps: Punch Bunch, Short & Sweet
  • Paper: WW, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo
  • Ink: Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo
  • Acc: Soft Suede Ribbon, Owl Punch, DD Glitter, Dimensionals

Mojo193, JB22 & CAS121

147_5250

First, Happy Memorial Day to all!  It is a beautiful, hot, sunny day here in PA, and although we are enjoying the weather,  our hearts go out to the families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can be free.

I had a little free time today to stamp a couple Christmas cards for my stash!  The first one is for SCS’s CAS121, which was to use folded or scrunched ribbon:

DSCF6499

I know it is difficult to see in this photo, but the ribbon ends are adhered at different points as they “frame” my little Scottie dog.  I lightened this photo so you can see it a bit better:

DSCF6500

The stamp is from Picture Show; DP is Max & Whiskers, BG; image is colored using ink & blender pen.  Easy peasy.

The next one uses the Mojo Monday 193 sketch:

Mojo193Sketch

and also qualifies for the Jingle Belles “We Three Kings” challenge, which is to use three DPs in your card.  So here we go:

DSCF6496

There’s actually no stamping on this card, except for the sentiment inside!! Yikes!  I altered the ribbon element to fit my picture a bit better.  The images are from Crafty Secrets, DPs are Wassail from BG.  Here’s a closer view:

DSCF6498

The snowflake is from SU’s Northern Flurries diecut, covered in Versamark, Heat & Stick Powder and some MS vintage glitter.

I don’t have any pictures of Miss Cassidy today, but I do have a couple from the Memorial Day parade John & I were in!  He marches with other servicemen; I march with my local Curves:

In our driveway, on the way to the parade;

One of the Curves girls, Barbara (not shown), brought three alpacas to march with us!  Carol, the owner, got elected to help “walk” them!  She, Barbara, her husband Jerry and I all went to school together.  Who would think so many (many, many!) years later we’d be walking alpacas down the main street of our little town of West Grove, PA!!!  LOL!  They were quite a hit with everyone!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Paper Players #49

DSCF6491-1

Happy Sunday before Memorial Day! It has been a wonderful weekend so far, I hope you are enjoying yours! Today the Paper Players have an “Anything Goes” challenge for you---just what it says, you can do anything you like!

I chose to do a CAS card by watercoloring the Fabulous Florets set:

DSCF6492-1

This is a smaller card than normal; it measures about 3 1/2” across; I embossed the flowers in White Craft ink and white embossing powder, then watercolored them with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry ink. I fussy-cut the flowers out around the corner of the Crumb Cake panel, which qualifies this card for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge 69 as well! I wheeled the Melon Mambo panel with the Music Notes wheel and although it is difficult to see, I embossed the floral border from Vintage Vogue along the bottom of the card:

DSCF6495-1

The ribbon is some retired Melon Mambo, tied in a simple knot and the sentiment is from Style Beautiful. I love the simplicity of this! I hope you will play along with us---choose one of your favorites, we’ll take anything!

PPA95 & CD102

DSCF6483

A quick, quick card today for two challenges!  Pals Paper Arts needed some brads, and The Color Dare’s colors were So Saffron & Concord Crush.  I only have cardstock of the Concord Crush, so I used it to make a mat for my CAS card:

DSCF6482

I CASed the layout from Susan’s blog, Simplicity; the Fabulous Florets flowers were masked, stamping them three times and adding a couple leaves as well.  The sentiment is from Occasional Quotes and the three Glimmer Brads add some visual interest, along with a little scallop edging of Patterns DP:

BLOGGER!

DSCF6340

This is what Blogger makes me feel like….hanging upside down and screaming. Just sharing a little bit…and I know since not everyone can comment, we’ll just have to commiserate together in silence. Edited to add: Blogger must have seen this post as I CAN NOW LOG IN!!! WOOHOO!!!

Monkey 57 Birthday Challenge

DSCF6436

I needed a birthday card and the a la Card Monkey challenge 57 was just right:

Using the Crazy for Cupcakes set, I did some paper piecing and coated the entire cupcake top with Versamark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder for a nice sugar coating:

The bright colors in the Pawsitively Prints DP  make it a perfect choice for a happy card!  I punched some tiny “confetti”, and crimped and slivered some other matching DP into strips for some “streamers”:

These colors just make me smile!!!  Thanks for visiting today!

Framed Collage

DSCF6441-1

I am still working on my shabby-chicness techniques….I see such beauties out in blogworld and try to recreate them, but I still need some practice!  I created a little frame with some cardboard and Nesties, then painted it, tried to distress it and ended up spraying it with some Gold Glitter Spray from Krylon---NEAT STUFF!  A little swoosh and my whole creation was glittered in a second!  Unfortunately, it is difficult to see in the photo:

DSCF6440-1

DSCF6441-2

I did some collage stamping on the background, added a chipboard bird’s nest and some lace & ribbon, then finished with some bling & little tags that don’t mean anything, so I guess this card will be whatever I need it to be when the time arises!  Meanwhile, this fulfills a few challenges:

Thanks so much for visiting today!

  • Paper:  Crumb Cake, Confetti White
  • Ink:  Crumb Cake, Soft Sky

ColourQ86

DSCF6432

Happy Tuesday and happy ColourQ challenge!  I am trying to be upbeat today, but my heart is heavy as I see the photographs of Joplin.  So much destruction, and I know there have been other parts of the country in the last few months that have been affected by tornadoes, floods and other acts of nature.  Prayers going out to everyone in those areas.

Arielle has chosen a bright, fun inspiration for today:

cqc86

Hah!  Who wouldn’t love to have a pair of socks or slippers like this?!  These toes look a lot better than mine do, LOL!  I decided to do one of Arielle’s Wax Fruit Company digital images because she is also having a little contest and I love to play with her images!!!  I thought the berry in a bucket image would be perfect:

CQC86-LeAnne

Since I am NOT a very good Copic colorer, I chose to paper-piece my images with some SU paper and merely shade them with my Copics. I added the sentiment with some ribbon & rickrack and mounted everything on a Daffodil Delight panel that was embossed with the Perfect Petals EF.  I think maybe I should have added some glitter to the seeds but I didn’t have enough patience to do that!!!

DSCF6432-1

I hope YOU have enough patience to play along with the ColourQ this week—stroll on over to the blog to see the other samples and play along!  This combo is sure to brighten your day!
